Nancymarie Phillips, PhD, RN, RNFA, CNOR(E)
Nancymarie Phillips is a respected educator in perioperative care and Professor Emeritus at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio. She dedicated much of her career to the institution as the Director of Perioperative Education and the Surgical Technology Program Director. An active and engaged professional, Dr. Phillips holds local and national positions with the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and the Competency and Credentialing Institute. Since becoming a perioperative nurse in 1975, she has become a registered nurse and a Registered Nurse First Assistant, and is certified in perioperative nursing. Her academic credentials include an RN, BA, BSN, MEd, and PhD. She is also a dedicated author, having written and contributed to many articles, textbooks, and book chapters. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her teaching and mentorship, receiving the Lakeland Excellence in Teaching Award, the AORN Perioperative Clinical Educator Award, and the Sigma Theta Tau Virginia Olsavsky Mentorship Award
Anita Hornacky, BS, RN, CST, CNOR
Anita Hornacky is a perioperative educator at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio, with a specialized focus on surgical pharmacology and orthopedics. As a certified perioperative registered nurse and a certified surgical technologist, she brings extensive hands-on experience to her work. Throughout her career, she has worked as a surgical technologist, circulating nurse, and operating room preceptor. Her contributions extend beyond the classroom, as she has authored and co-authored several textbooks, online educational content, webinars, and book chapters. Anita holds a BS and her professional memberships include the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST).
