Allen R. Nissenson, MD is Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he previously served as Director of the Dialysis Program and Associate Dean. He served as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Medical Officer Emeritus of DaVita Kidney Care from 2008 to 2022, leading the organization to industry‑standard‑setting clinical outcomes. Dr. Nissenson is a past Chair of Kidney Care Partners, past Co‑Chair of the Kidney Care Quality Alliance, and a former President of the Renal Physicians Association. He served as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow of the Institute of Medicine, working as a health advisor to the late Senator Paul Wellstone. He is the author of two dialysis textbooks and has over 730 publications in the field of nephrology. His numerous honors include the President‘s Award of the National Kidney Foundation and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Hemodialysis from the Annual Dialysis Conference. Dr. Nissenson earned his MD from Northwestern University Medical School.
Richard N. Fine, MD is a distinguished pediatric nephrologist affiliated with Stony Brook University. His career in nephrology spans decades, and he has been a pioneering figure in the field of pediatric dialysis and kidney transplantation. Dr. Fine has authored or co‑authored over 380 scientific papers and book chapters. He has served as the Editor‑in‑Chief of Pediatric Nephrology and Seminars in Dialysis. His research has focused extensively on growth failure in children with chronic kidney disease, the long‑term outcomes of pediatric kidney transplant recipients, and the development of dialysis therapies for the pediatric population. Dr. Fine earned his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center.
Rajnish Mehrotra, MD, MS is the Belding H. Scribner Endowed Professor and Head of the Division of Nephrology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington. He is the President of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis and serves as the Editor‑in‑Chief of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. His NIH‑ and PCORI‑funded research focuses on improving the lived experience of people with advanced kidney disease, including barriers to home dialysis use, biologic determinants of peritoneal dialysis, and clinical trials for symptom management. Dr. Mehrotra has co‑authored over 300 original research papers and book chapters. He earned his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, completed his nephrology fellowship at the University of Missouri‑Columbia, and holds an MS in Epidemiology from the University of Washington.
Joshua Zaritsky, MD, PhD is a Pediatric Nephrologist at Phoenix Children‘s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He received his medical degree and PhD from Stanford Medical School. He completed his pediatric residency at Denver Children‘s Hospital and his fellowship in pediatric nephrology at UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Zaritsky is board‑certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He specializes in a wide range of kidney disorders, from common conditions such as kidney stones and nephrotic syndrome to rare disorders including cystinosis and X‑linked hypophosphatemia.
